Central Texas College offers the following Microsoft courses:
- ITNW 1408 – Implementing and Supporting Microsoft Windows XP Professional:
- Addresses the implementation and desktop support needs of customers that are planning to deploy and support Microsoft Windows XP Professional in a variety of standalone and network operations system environments -
4 credit hours. (Certification Exam MS-70-270) - ITNW 1458 – Network+:
- This course prepares individuals for a career as a Network Engineer in the Information Technology support industry. It includes the various responsibilities and tasks required for service engineers to successfully perform in a specific environment. This course also prepares individuals to pass the Computing Technology Industry Association (Comp TIA) Network+ Certification exam.
4 credit hours - (Network+ Certification Exam) - ITNW 1454 – Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Server 2003 Environment:
- Manage accounts and resources, maintain server resources, monitor server performance, and safeguard data in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environment
4 credit hours - (Certification Exam MS-70-290) - ITNW 2456 – Planning, Implementing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Server 2003 Network Infrastructure:
- Implementing routing; implementing, managing, and maintaining Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), and Windows Internet Name Service (WINS); securing Internet Protocol (IP) traffic with Internet Protocol security (IPSec) and certificates; implementing a network access infrastructure by configuring the connections for remote access clients; and managing and monitoring network access.
4 credit hours (Certification Exam MS-70-291) - ITSY 1442 – Information Technology Security:
- Instruction in security for network, hardware, software, and data, including physical security; backup procedures; relevant tools; encryption; and protection from viruses.
4 credit hours – (Security+ Certification Exam)
